The present study includes a systematic analysis of sediment contamination by heavy metals of the River Ghaghara flowing through the Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in Indian Territory. To estimate the geochemical environment of the river, seven heavy metals, namely Co, Cu, Cr, Ni, Cd, Zn, and Pb were examined from the freshly deposited river bed sediment. All the sediment samples . These River Water Quality Reports prepared by the Central Water Commission (CWC) summarise the river water data collected under its long term monitoring programme. The Central Water Commission monitors water quality at key locations covering all the major river basins of India by maintaining a three tier laboratory system for analysis of

Home to over a million people, the upper White River Basin is comprised of ten counties in northwest Arkansas and nine in southwest Missouri, covering an area of o square miles. Since the Foundation of Ozarks Water Watch in , the population of this region has substantially grown, with the average population growth at %. The Red River Basin is the fourth largest river basin by area within Texas. The region's red-colored soil gives the basin's namesake river its characteristic color during high flow events. From its headwaters in New Mexico, the Red River flows across Texas, along the Texas-Oklahoma border, and into Arkansas before reaching its confluence with.

[24] Published compilations of water and sediment data for the upper Colorado River Basin include work by Iorns et al., but an unpublished document stored in the files of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in Salt Lake City contains a highly consistent summary of sediment yield data from the upper basin. Sedimentation Engineering (Manual 54) is an excellent text for understanding the nature and scope of sedimentation problems, methods for their investigation, and practical approaches to their solution. The manual focuses on sediment control methods for watersheds, streams, canals, and reservoirs.

Arkansas-White-Red River Basin Plan The Arkansas-White-Red River Basins plan was the first real attempt by an interagency group to prepare a coordinated, long-range comprehensive plan for the development of the water resources of a river basin.

Existing agency organizations were not compatible with such a joint effort. CiteScore: ℹ CiteScore: CiteScore measures the average citations received per peer-reviewed document published in this title. CiteScore values are based on citation counts in a range of four years (e.g.

The history of deposition in the White River Reservoir was reconstructed from a study of sediment in the reservoir. Suspended-sediment concentrations, particle size, and streamflow characteristics were measured at gaging stations upstream and downstream from the reservoir from November through September Characteristics of the sediments were determined from borings and samples taken.

This report is the sixth of eight River Basin Reports to be published as. a component of the Arkansas State Water Plan. The objectives of this plan are to incorporate new data available from recent research, re-evaluate new and existing problems, present specific solutions and recommendations, and.

Report on Arkansas, White, and Red River Basins Water Resources Development Program, Corps of Engineers (Civil Functions) and Southwestern Power Administration, for the Fiscal Year Ended J B Published: Publicly Released: Overview Aims and Scope. River Research and Applications, previously published as Regulated Rivers: Research and Management (), is an international journal dedicated to the promotion of basic and applied scientific research on rivers.

The journal publishes original scientific and technical papers on biological, ecological, geomorphological, hydrological, engineering and geographical. The phenomenon of suspended sediment load is very complex in Mina River basin because of its important soil heterogeneity, vegetation deficiency and rainfall variability in time and space.

The methodological approach adopted in this paper consists of finding a regressive power model, which may explain better the suspended sediment discharge as a function of the flow discharge collected at .Originally published inthis is a classic of the geomorphology literature.

Erosion, transport, and deposition of sediment within river catchments concern a wide range of earth scientists and profoundly affect land management. Upland soil removal engages the attention of soil conservationists, hydraulic engineers deal with fluvial sediment transport and river channel morphology, and.

1. Introduction. There is a growing body of evidence pertaining to the significant reduction in sediment supply to the global ocean.

This is primarily due to the anthropogenic entrapments in dams and reservoirs, which has resulted in noticeable changes in the hydrological, geomorphological, ecological functioning of the river basins (Walling and Fang,Chakrapani,Syvitski et al.
